@Faon: You should be arrested, because your clef-drip shot is criminally kewl. ha

@aLv|N: Thx, mate.

@Sarito: Thx, S.
I like the clouds and the perspective.

@JWS: Thx, John Wayne Siegwarth! The angles of porch decrepitude luckily enhance the perspective a bit.
I like your image of the rundown place that appears to be on its last legs. The tree limbs reaching up to those marvelous clouds add to the picture. Nice one.

@Don: Thx, D. Jealous of your Banff trip.

@greg: Thx, Greg. Hard to miss with that sky.
Amazing sky. Looks rather surreal - like its opening up to shed some light on this old house. Perfect light in fact to make this shot spectacular.
28 Jan 2009 1:59am
@dogilicious: Thxlicious, Dog. One of the wilder skies I've seen. Easy pickins.
Wow! Amazing shot! I always wonder about the history of those old houses/buildings. If only the walls could speak.
28 Jan 2009 3:40am
@Val: The mystery got to me, too. I almost stopped in town to see if anybody knew the history of the ranch. Maybe sometime later I'll ask.
Great photo and timing. The sky opening above the home is great timing and the tree branches are perfect! I like the colors and tones and the old house has a ton of interest!

Are the cattle still back there or is this a different time? The sky is a blanket and the tree frames the house in a way as to hold it, while it has very little way of holding itself anymore. This is a wonderful image.
28 Jan 2009 5:54am
@San G.: Been there twice. The blanket-sky from the first time, the cattle were the second time weeks later. It's a perfect location if the sky behind it is cookin'. I have about a dozen keepers from the two trips there. That house is falling apart fast.
wow is this HDR or a fake sky?
28 Jan 2009 7:59am
@Lomantik: Real sky, pseudo-HDR. I have some of that sky w/o HDR that are nutz, too.
Nice shot, the area looks so flat, are there no mountains near this part of the US? The sky seems to have a hole in it ready to pull up this house, kind of like the Wizard of Oz...
30 Jan 2009 3:15am
@Denise: Yeah, pretty flat around here - rolling prairie mostly. There are some small hills/mesas within an hour and a half N and W. You have to drive 4 hours to see the nearest mountains - on the OK/ARK border.
Wow, this looks like something straight out of the Wizard of Oz! Or maybe In Cold Blood! Creepy.
12 Feb 2009 11:58am
@Lesley: It does now that you mention it. In Cold Blood is a fav movie of mine - the acting job Scott Wilson did in that is very underrated.
I LOVE this shot. what can I say... wow!
