Near Ethel, Tx
where is Ethel TX?

@Rags: Not far from Plano actually, near Collinsville. Google map it. One of the tallest man-made structures in the world is in Ethel, Tx.
I feel like I am travelling down that road....Nice DOF, good "rhythm" effect....I like it! :)

@Markela: Thanks, M.
Let me guess.....Behind this rise are the Cylons !
Or maybe ........

@Grahame: Behind this rise? Most likely something even scarier than the Cylons - a dually! Like this - http://bigduallywheels.com/images/06_chevy_dually_05.jpg
Cool shot!!! And what is that tallest man made structure? building, teepee, walking stick?????

@Susan: 3 or 4 2000-ft radio towers are located here in North Texas for some reason. They're really tall - record books tall. From a hill on a clear day not long ago, I could see one 35 miles away.
I went to the top of a radio tower once (dated an ironworker from Amarillo.... although the tower he built was in Phila, PA).... I have no idea how tall that one was.... but in the middle of the night, at the top of it, in the middle of the winter, it was mighty cold, and seemed mighty tall!!!

@Susan: I climbed one once with my buddies. Middle of the night, after a coupla beers, trespassing, no safety harnesses, 19-yrs-old. We were real smart boys. Yep.
I like the early (or late ?) light here
12 Mar 2009 9:31pm
@PD: Late - about 30 mins before sundown. That's why I stopped, the light looked so cool playing across the scene there.
Cool composition... kinda makes me feel like something might be coming over the hill... any minute now :)

@Tracy: Thx for visiting, Tracy.
ohh how I miss flat land. nice.

@Lindsay: Flat!? That's what we call a stinkin' mountain around here!
Fantastic!! I love this kind of image. Great golden-hour glow. At first, I was going to suggest cropping the lower portion to eliminate the guardrail (?), but the more I look at it, the more I like the way it glows in that evening sun. The landscape reminds me of the country roads here in Lincoln (Nebraska). And, yep, I wouldn't say it's flat. Especially not when you're out for a run! ;)

@Lesley: Yeah, bingo. I left the ugly sticks and guardrail in because of the glow.
I like the angles of the poles and the effect of the evening (or morning) sun. Also the green on one side and the brown on the other.
